Subject: Inaccessibility of RTE Player to Blind People
Dear sir/Madam.
Many of my friends often recommend that I watch programmes I may have
missed again on the RTE Player. As a blind user, I find the player
totally inaccessible and frustrating and have recently discovered that
other blind and visionimpaired people have had a similar experience to
mine.
I realise that the player uses flash but so does the BBC site and
their player is properly labelled and usable. I feel sure that RTE
could emulate this.
Perhaps the computer accessibility section of The National Council for
the Blind
Could advise you in this matter. I would strongly recommend that you
contact them.
Hoping that this problem can be solved in the not too distant future.
