hi marie. i have set-up the email app on my fire to open my gmail account.
actually, i have several gmail accounts and set-up two of them in
email settings on the fire.
like i have said in past posts, i really like the app because, i can
whip through my email in the morning, deleting, archiving and reading
easily. i can also respond, but, unless a short response, i use my
laptop instead. but, slice-and-dice quick work of email is the first
thing i do.
perhaps you have not set-up email on your fire? that is required. all
i say is "open email" with alexa and the email app opens.

I still am unclear about you saying you can ask the Fire to open a native
app by just saying open.... Is this with Alexa? I tried asking Alexa to open
email and she could not. So how do you accomplish this?
