hi dwayne. lisa is correct. for a first time user, sighted assistance
might be good.
it is possible that you never got to pairing mode. there are no sounds
to help you. voice-view gesture results do that for you.
and, yes, once paired, every time you turn the keyboard on the
keyboard should pair automatically!

note, i would check out the user guide for the fire and the video
tutorials also. i listened to all of them for the first time and
learned alot. additionally, the bluetooth tutorial in the user guide
not only gives pairing instructions. it also gives alot of shortcuts
for using the keyboard just as you would a normal full-size usb
keyboard on a pc. i had never read that before and it was really good!
