Hello friends,

One of my friends/clients recently called to tell me he saw a
notification in settings/about phone that his android was due for an
update. He uses Samsung Galaxy S Duos 2 S7582.

He has updated the android but it still remains on 4.2.2. Why should that be?
If this phone is locked to a carrier it is possible that the carrier pushed an
update to there phones with some bug fixes or possible security fixes.
This wouldn't necessarily update the android version.

Also, what changes occur when your android version is updated? And how
do you know the
changes took place?

Plus, where can I go to find out if a particular phone can be updated?
I'll try to answer your last 2 questions here.
To check for updates in android go to the following.
settings, about phone, and software updates.
If the phone shows up to date then the update was installed.
There is also some information in about phone that should help you to figure out weather the phone was updated or not.
.

Thank you.
