Hi all, This is my first post to this group, I'll give a brief introduction of myself, and then will ask my questions. I'm totally blind, I'm presently studying for a doctorate in Sociology, and I live in Karachi, Pakistan. So far, I've used Nuance talks and zoom for Nokia phones, but now that Nuance has stop developing this software, I'm considering switching to android phones. I know that perhaps I Phone is the most accessible touch phone around, but I cannot afford it, so low cost android phones developed by Samsung and Motorola for users in developing countries will be the most likely solution for me. My questions are: How well talkback works on jelly bean devices? I think I'll by Samsung star pro which has jelly bean 4.1.2. Can I use it to send and read text messages? Can I easily make calls and attend them? Can I browse the internet? What about sending and receiving emails? I've used my friend's I Phone for a very short time, so I've a basic idea of how to move the finger around the screen and how to double tap to activate an item. Is there any guide about what gestures can be used on android phones? Finally, any links to useful websites, information about other lists of blind android users will be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your help, Regards, Faiz.
