Hello all,
We too noticed a quiet backyard after the storm passed thru. However, bird life
has perked up.
Within the past week or so we have seen: Yellow-bellied Sapsucker,
Golden-crowned and Ruby-crowned Kinglets (the latter as recent as 10-21 along
with a Brown Thrasher and White-throated Sparrow that same morning).
Also, the American Goldfinches are back along with the Male and Female Downy
that have been frequenting our yard for a couple of years now, the Chickadees
that haven't been coming as often this year as in years gone by, a number of
male and female Northern Cardinals, and what are mostly migrating Blue Jays and
Robins. We are also seeing butterflies--mostly Monarchs.
