Birders,
When my husband and I arrived at the Edgecliff Farm gate along Rectortown
Road just west of Rectortown, VA last evening at about 5:30 PM, the
Short-eared Owls were already flying over the snowy fields. One was sitting
on a distant hill making its distinctive bark-like call. There were at
least two that were still flying and perching on telephone poles and fence
posts when we left about 6:15 PM. I've included a link to a distant photo
of the one sitting on a distant hill.
