Good Afternoon Birders,
This morning my daughter and I went to Leesylvania
State Park. We were there from 9:30-11:30 am and
visited Bushey Point trail, picnic area and Lee's
Woods trail near the overlook. It was overcast and
cool, but not raining. Here are the birds I found
along the way.
Cormorant, Double-crested
Goose, Canada
Mallard
Eagle, Bald
Osprey: leg dangling & calling
Heron, Great Blue
Vulture, Turkey
Gull, Bonaparte's: in water by overlook
Dove, Mourning
Woodpecker, Downy
Woodpecker, Pileated
Bluebird, Eastern
Cardinal, Northern
Chickadee, Carolina
Cowbird, Brown-headed
Crow, Fish
Gnatcatcher, Blue-gray: many on both trails
Goldfinch, American
Grackle, Common
Junco, Dark-eyed
Kinglet, Ruby-crowned: showing red crown
Martin, Purple: pair near nest boxes
Mockingbird, Northern: singing
Nuthatch, White-breasted
Phoebe, Eastern: singing
Robin, American: singing
Sparrow, Field
Sparrow, White-throated
Starling, European
Swallow, Tree
Thrasher, Brown: singing
Titmouse, Tufted
Towhee, Eastern: singing along wood trail
Warbler, Yellow-rumped
Warbler, Yellow-throated: singing in all 3 locations
Wren, Carolina
