I was at Ford's Pond today and saw a pair of Swamp Sparrows and the same Snow
Goose Matt Hunter emailed about today, also an Orange-crowned Warbler in the
willows south of the pond along the dike. The Swamp Sparrows were reported
yesterday at Ford's Pond (Sally Hill rare bird alert on eBird) and Jim Arneson
posted an Orange-crowned Warbler on eBird at Umpqua Park by the fairgrounds
December 28. There are few eBird reports of OG Warbler in inland Douglas County
in December-February and the seasonal bar charts show the bird as "casual, not
found every year" for the Umpqua Valley. Mikeal Jones
