Hi Rich,
After WIP4 is out, I'll work on creating a native SCSI layer for OS X, so 
cdrtools will no longer be required.
Why you look at the Basilisk II or sheepshaver sources for a useful SCSI (CD/DVD ROM) support?
I think this could be helpful because this emulators are from the same developer as uae (I know that you know this ;-))
