JUANITA & ELISABETH, Thanks for the additional information about Easy Cleaner.
I will be installing the new version today, however, since Armando and Joe don't think it is not even necessary to use if jv16 Power Tools are used, I will also try that approach.

JOE & CHUCK- thanks for mentioning that it is counter productive to try to
eliminate duplicate file.
I had been looking at all of the duplicate files I have and thinking wouldn't
it be nice to delete all of them ... but I have 1000's so I have been very
reluctant to do so because of the unknown problems I may cause. Well, you have
answered my question and again saved me from making a BIG mistake. All of those
duplicates will stay right where they are now!

JOE,
Another thank you is in order for mentioning, Disk Cleaner, as being the "best little utility I have ever found to clean buildup of junk files and it sure beats fighting a batch file." It is another of your programs that I will will be anxiously looking forward to using.

And speaking of the programs you have recommended. I have been using the Move-On-Boot ever since you recommend it earlier to clear the index.dat files. And I can't believe there is, or will ever be, a more effective and easier to use program. Even as a beginner I had absolutely no problem performing, what would have other wise been an impossible task with this great program.

And speaking of the program, you raised a question when you mentioned, " A simple right click on the file and select Move on Boot from the context menu is all that's required. The same is true of those other files that you can't delete because they are in use."
I am wondering what other files or in what other circumstances should I be using the program?

Well again thanks for all of the wonderful and useful information. I can't begin to thank all of you for providing the king of information that has make my computer behave like it is REALLY A USEFUL TOOL- and not just something to spend endless hours trying to fix, understand, or to CURSE!!!

BRIAN
