Davidson Co. Nashville, TN Sunday, May 16 Living in the River Plantation condminium complex means that our yard is nearly non-existent. Most birds are seen perching in the trees next to the Harpeth River about 100 yards away or flying by overhead. Sunday morning my wife suddenly called me to the front window. She said she had just seen a quail fly in. For a couple minutes we searched the shrubs perhaps 25 yards away before finding a female BOBWHITE cleaning its feathers. Soon it began to search the mulch for food. By the time I thought to get my camera, it had moved about 10 doors down. Nevertheless, given the paucity of sighting of this species, she was a great addition to our slowly growing yard list. -- Frank Fekel Tennessee State University Center of Excellence in Information Systems 330 10th Avenue North Nashville, TN 37221 USA =================NOTES TO SUBSCRIBER===================== The TN-Bird Net requires you to sign your messages with first and last name, city (town) and state abbreviation. ----------------------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------------- To post to this mailing list, simply send email to: tn-bird@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx ----------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, send email to: tn-bird-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with 'unsubscribe' in the Subject field. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * TN-Bird Net is owned by the Tennessee Ornithological Society Neither the society(TOS) nor its moderator(s) endorse the views or opinions expressed by the members of this discussion group.
