We had a few migrants in the yard today despite the dreary weather. A
northern parula and two black and white warblers passed through this afternoon.
Gnatchcatchers and both kinglets were also around.
We have seen cormorants flying north along the river during migration in the
spring several times, but this year there seems to be a few commuting up and
down the river on a daily basis. I wonder if they might be setting up house
keeping in one of the local great blue heron rookeries.
