This is too early to be included in the Shorebird Count, but we
put my spotting scope on Mud Island in Memphis, TN and looked
across the Mississippi River. There were eighty two ( 82 ) Great
Egrets at the southern end of Loosahatchie Bar.

As for the official August 10 and 11 Shorebird Count, we are
gonna drive north along the Arkansas side of the River, up to
the town of Oscoela, and see what we can see.
