The Sabine's Gull at Honker Bay in Kentucky was as cooperative as it was
beautiful this morning. We arrived at 8:45 and found it almost immediately as
it fed about half way between the mouth of the bay and the dam. It was
gorgeous in flight for about 30 minutes and then gave us an extra thrill as it
sat on the water approximately 150 yards from where we stood and gave us a
great opportunity to study it at length. Other birders from Nashville and
Atlanta arrived and were still watching it when we left at 10:15. Thanks to
all who posted updates and directions to help us see this spectacular
lifer.
