Nashville area CBC
You know what they say, "bad weather, good birds". Unfortunately, the
opposite holds true as well. Yesterday was a fabulous, balmy day for birders of
the
Nashville CBC, but unfortunately, a poor day for birds. We had a total of 71
species, compared to 83 last year, and the lowest showing since 1996 when 70
species were tallied. Highlights were 1 Purple Finch at Warner Park, Count
Week Rusty Blackbird at Radnor Lake, 5 Brewer's Blackbirds at Owls Hill, and a
Count Week immature male Baltimore Oriole, also at Owls Hill. Duck species
were
low, and we had no Bald Eagles. Thank you so much to all who participated,
and to Mary Zimmerman for hosting the compilation and Jon Mann for recording
the numbers.
