[TN-Bird] Re: Question about a Summer Tanager

There has been a breeding pair of summer tanagers in my front yard every
summer I've lived here (3 years). Two years ago, there was a male that
seemed to overwinter. I heard his chirp late into the fall and also in
early February. Though I did not hear or see him that December or January,
it was probably just me missing him and not him being gone. Last winter, I
never heard or saw a summer tanager outside of breeding season, and this
year I have not heard or seen one since early October.

I'm not sure why a male stuck around two years ago, but not since. He was
not dependent on feeders as far as I know. Perhaps they just get too old
to migrate.
