TN-birders,
Dollyann and I made a run through the Eagle Bend fish hatchery in Anderson Co.
this morning and had some good activity.
Instead of our usual 23 species or so, we tallied 35 species. That included an
Orange-crowned Warbler, 6 Palm Warblers, 2 Winter Wrens, a hermit Thrush and a
lot of other passerines. All of these were in the vegetation surrounding the
hatchery. We had very little in the hatchery itself. Just 1 Bufflehead and 1
Hooded Merganser.
There are a lot of berries in the trees and bushes along the river and we found
most of the activity there. Fun stuff.
Great birding,
