What kind of hardware are you using?  Generally, the big guys have software
that does this, IE: HP Insight Manager, Dell OpenManage (or whatever they're
calling it this year), whathaveyou.  Otherwise, there's a slew of such
things on the market, depending on what you are particularly looking for.
The good thing about the vendor ones, is they're free!

Does anybody know of  software monitoring utilities that will check
cpu/m-board temps and send alerts if they reach a threshold?
