Hi Neil,

Thanks for your help...I hand't allowed the dc to make schema
changes...after playing with the schmmgmt.msc I found where to enable schema
updates...then voila...it started to play ball.... just at the point when we
realised that we probably didn't want containers after all...

I have some more questions for you...back in a minute....

thanks, Brianos :o)

To amend the schema, you normally have to be running as a user that is
in schema admins, and have enabled the schema as writable on that DC
using the schema.

I just created one on a test domain, and it showed up fine in ADU&C - I
did give it a display name, when I created it, though, and I do have
advanced features turned on in ADU&C.

Personally, I wouldn't alter the schema for this - you shouldn't need
to, and should be most cautious when you do it. You are made to
deliberately change the operations master (for the schema) when you
modify it, and that's for a reason (speaking as somebody who's done
numerous schema amendments).

Neil
