Why have him create the container (even though he asked for it) when an
OU would fit his bill.

By default, you will have a container called "Computers" in AD.
However, if you need to create another - lower down the hierarchy,
whilst AD users and computers may not let you, ADSI edit will.
Note: containers are a type of object - as are computers (in reference
to your use of "type").
