You may want to reread the thread... Philip states there are 2 options...
One hides and one restricts access. You can even combine in some cases.

IIRC, this just hides them, doesn't block access to them.

user configuration -> administrative templates -> windows components ->
windows explorer
2 different options:
Hide these specified drives in My Computer
or
Prevent access to drives from My Computer
