Another possibility, I suppose, would be patch deployment software running at the wrong time. Far stretch, but a possibility. -----Original Message----- From: Ryan Lambert Sent: Tuesday, July 20, 2004 2:09 PM To: 'thin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx' Subject: RE: [THIN] W2K TS sudden restart Nope. Assuming you're patched up to date for the latest and greatest OS fixes, AV is up to date... I've never seen it on anything other than a bluescreen or heat issues that'll sometimes cause the server to reboot (albeit not so gracefully, and its shown in Event Log as unexpected). By the way you're describing this, the users were "logged off" instead of "kicked off". Usually on a terminal server, I've seen this when someone who has permission accidentally clicks restart instead of Log off, or they've chosen to restart after SW install/updates. Maybe someone else has seen something, but... not I. -----Original Message----- From: Boyd Adolfsson [mailto:badolfsson@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Tuesday, July 20, 2004 2:03 PM To: thin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [THIN] W2K TS sudden restart Has anyone ever run into a problem where a W2k SP4 Terminal Server suddenly restarted on its own, logging off all users and restarting? This just happened to us today. I couldn't find anything suspicious in the event log. Boyd Adolfsson Director of Technology, MCSE+I SeniorBridge Family Companies, Inc.
