We use Trend too, but Office XP.

I presume you have installed the Trend Console on a separate w2k server
and deployed from there?

Subject: [THIN] Server Slowness, Office 2003 or TrendMicro?

I've got 3 W2k Citrix servers that have been running great for 18 months
or
so. We recently purchased and installed TrendMicro's ServerProtect and
also MS Office 2003. I installed both of these at the same time and now
I
have users occasionally experiencing extreme slowness.

It seems to be specific to certain users but over time more users are
indicating they have the problem. We haven't verified that everyone on
the
server experiences the slowness at the same time -- it doesn't appear to
be
the case. When this happens, the CPU is not pegged and memory is the
same
as it is during regular speed. Network speed seems to be fine.

My first thought was that ServerProtect was introducing some severe
scanning. I now have set it to only scan "Incoming" and also not to
scan
all files (I set it to use its intellisense option, or whatever it is
called). I also told it not to scan network drives.

Anyone have any ideas? Any known issues with either ServerProtect or
Office 2003?

I have the following apps on the servers and about 20 users per server
(dual-cpu):
W2k - SP3
Citrix Metaframe XP
Lotus Notes 6.x
MS Office 2003
Kermit 95 (telnet)
OpenOffice 1.1.x
Worperfect Suite 2000
