Rick, The app is Macola SQL, and unfortunately that not the only area where the VAR didn't do any favours. I read through the links sent by folks here and I found where to make the changes, but what it didn't Tell me, was that I needed to re-boot the servers after applying the changes, so when I did my Monday Re-boot, the changes took, and the users can no longer shut down the servers. Thanks to every one who responded. Thank You -Doug Rooney Sonoma TileMakers IT Systems Administrator 7750 Bell Rd. They could have added some real value by analysing exactly what the app required and determining whether an app-fix (eg application compatibility fix) could have done the same thing. There are very few reasons for giving users any elevated privileges, and in those special cases ONLY the privileges required should be assigned. I can't offhand think of any scenario that would include shutdown rights. What's the ERP application? regards, Rick Ulrich Mack Volante Systems ________________________________ From: thin-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx on behalf of Doug Rooney Sent: Fri 27/10/2006 3:44 To: thin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [THIN] Re: RDP Clients Brian, Due to issues with our ERP software, our VAR created a new permissions level. So they have semi-elevated privileges. Thank You -Doug Rooney Sonoma TileMakers IT Systems Administrator 7750 Bell Rd.
