Try installing Win2K and then upgrading to Windows 2003. Should work.

If you have problems just with the NICs, try putting a non-Compaq/3rd party
NIC in, such as an Intel or 3-Com for which you have Win2K3 drivers supplied
by the NIC manufacturor.

You won't find support for Windows 2003 on the PL1850R from HP.

There is an alt.computers...compaq.servers newsgroup. That used to be a very
good resource for this sort of problem.

I tried the 2000 Drivers, told me they weren't supported in this OS

Unsure about the 1850R but I had the same problem with a Proliant 400 so
used the 2000 drivers that worked just fine.

I am trying to re-install 2003 on an Older 1850R and I have been unable to
find NIC drivers for it. I go to HP's page and the link to the drivers for
the 1850R is broken. Does anyone have 2K or 2003 NIC drivers for the
proliant 1850R or have a working link?
