[THIN] Re: Object Picker

When I was working on a military installation, we were using a single
user domain with five other resource domains. Each resource domain
trusted the user domain via a one way trust. We occasionally had
problems between domains, in which we re-setup the trust between the
domains. This, of course, was without running any sort of TS or Citrix.
However, we were running loads of other apps, to include SMS. Don't
know if this helps or hurts...but what the heck...just more info.

I have run into this issue before between a Win2k (No Sp's) with MF 1.8
=3D in and NT 4 domain with a 1 way trust to another NT 4 domain we had =
to
run nltest.exe with the sc (secure channel) switch and reset the secure
=3D channel between the domain controllers. It was a big pain in the =
butt.
Once it =3D was done you would be good for about 3 weeks or so and then
have to run it again. Once we upgrade to AD Domain the problem
disappeared

     Hi All!

I have faced recently with such problem.

     I have two domains: one - WinNT4.0 SP6, the second - Win2k SP3. =3D
One-way trust relationship is established between them, namely: Win2k
domain =3D trusts WinNT domain. Naturally, for Win2k domain, it looks =
like
trust =3D relationship with other forest. Except for that, the "domain
admins" group from WinNT domain is included in "Administrators" local
group in Win2k domain.

A problem is in the following: an error occurs when attempting to =
=3D
set permissions to any resource in Win2k domain by means of network =3D
connection with it from WinNT domain: "Unable to open Object Picker,
because the =3D place where it could be found is absent". Thus it is
possible to modify permissions of a resource, but it is impossible to
add new members and =3D give them an access.

     Articles 284914, 263231, 292575 from Microsoft didn't give answer =
=3D
to the question because I don't have such conditions in which error =3D
described in these articles occurs.

In Win2k domain all works fine and without any problems.

Maybe anyone faced with such problem and can tell how to solve it ?

Any opinions and ideas are welcome!
