I would go to the Microsoft news groups: Msnews.microsoft.com (Server) Microsoft.public.sqlserver.setup (Thread) Thanks Paul -----Original Message----- From: Greg [mailto:greg.watts@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Monday, April 26, 2004 8:27 AM To: thin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [THIN] OT:SQL Server Service I have been asked to look into SQL replication for oa XPe datastore on a SQL 2000 server running Windows 2000 server. In order to get replication to work the SQL Server service must use a domain account in order to start up. My customer is very concerned about requiring having another service account and since they will be using NT authentication they do want to make this account a member of the local administrators group. Does anyone know what specific rights I can give this account in order for it to start the service and to have replication work acrosss two different SQL servers? Thanks in advance!
