What else is changing on the servers? Are you removing anything else? I mean simply removing metaframe doesn't do much of anything. What exactly are you cleaning up? Not a whole lot. If your upgrading versions or removing/adding/updating applications, then maybe I can see your point but if everything else is staying the same, then you really aren't doing anything, IMHO.
