[THIN] Re: Installing Office 2003 on Citrix

Ok, now they are asking if we can set up a Windows 2003 Citrix server. =
Can this be in the same farm and use the same licenses as Metaframe on =
2000? I believe the installer used to be combined, so I don't think that =
special licenses are required, but do they play well on the same farm? I =
do know that the Microsoft Terminal licenses are different in 2003.

Thanks

That was the original suggestion we had, but the CIO seems to prefer =
putting it on the citrix server. I don't know why, we do own several =
copies of vmware and this is for only three people, including the IT =
director and CIO.

If you are open to considering VMWare, why not just build an additional
server running in VMWare and install the new software on the Virtual =3D
Machine
and publish the new apps from there?

Um, I have been able to have 2000 and XP both run on the same machine
successfully (both client workstation and TS). Do not perform an =3D
upgrade of
the applications. There will be some DLL's that need to be updated, but =
=3D
I
don't see any reason why you could not have XP and 2003 running on the =
=3D
same
machine.

Of course, test before you actually do this on your production machines.
Download a free copy of Vmware workstation (if you don't have it =3D
already).
Build up a test VM and then test this to make sure that it works for =3D
you.

I know that there are a few KB articles, but I don't have links right =
=3D
now.
