Check out CTX127867 Symtoms 1. Unable to telnet to port 1494. Connecting to servername. Could not o= pen a connection to host on port 1494: Connect failed. 2. NetStat -a does not show the server listening on port 1494. 3. A Microsoft RDP connection works. 4. Idle sessions are available and the ICA listener is created and enab= led. Resolution 1. Run regedt32. 2. Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services. 3. Create a key named WDICA. 4. Restore a saved key from a working server or manually add the follow= ing values: ErrorControl: REG_DWORD : 0 Start: REG_DWORD : 0x3 Type: REG_DWORD : 0x1 5. Under WDICA, create a subkey named Enum. 6. Restore a saved subkey from a working server or manually add the following values: 0 : REG_SZ : Root\LEGACY_WDICA\0000 Count : REG_DWORD : 0x1 NextInstance : REG_DWORD : 0x1 7. Reboot the server. 8. Make a Custom ICA Connection to the servers IP address. If the above steps do not resolve the issue, check for the existence of= HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\Root\LEGACY_WDICA and = its subkeys. If it does not exist, run regedt32 and edit HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\Root\ to include permissions for Administrators ? Full Control. Then import the following registry key [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\Root\LEGACY_WDICA] "NextInstance"=3Ddword:00000001 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\Root\LEGACY_WDICA\000= 0] "Service"=3D"WDICA" "Legacy"=3Ddword:00000001 "ConfigFlags"=3Ddword:00000000 "Class"=3D"LegacyDriver" "ClassGUID"=3D"{8ECC055D-047F-11D1-A537-0000F8753ED1}" "DeviceDesc"=3D"WDICA" "Capabilities"=3Ddword:00000000 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\Root\LEGACY_WDICA\000= 0\Control] "DeviceReference"=3Ddword:8907d030 "ActiveService"=3D"WDICA" NOTE The cause for the disappearance or corruption of these registry keys is= currently unknown. Citrix XP Not Listening on Port 149= 4 | >--------------------------------------------------------------------= ----------------------------------------------------| All, Here's the scenario, I've got a (Win2k SP2 & MFXP 1.0 SP1) Citrix serve= r that doesn't seem to be listening on port 1494. The ICA-tcp listener is= enabled, but every time I try to connect with Citrix, I get this messag= e: "The Citrix Server you have selected is not accepting connections." I c= an connect w/ RDP just fine, and all the other Citrix functions (CMC, QFAR= M, etc.) work just fine. I have notices a lot of Perflib (1008) and Rasctr= s (2001) errors in the Application Log. I also tried to do some Citrix troubleshooting with the Citrix Enterprise Tracer (ctxstrace501.exe), b= ut I could not coerce it into making a log file. I tried the telnet tests and found that the XML service is listening ju= st fine, but Citrix is not. Any ideas? Here is a snapshot I took of all the active ports on the server: Process PID Local IP Local Port Remote IP Remote Port State Protocol Path= svchost.exe 620 0.0.0.0 135 LISTEN UDP M: \WINNT\system32\svchost.exe svchost.exe 620 0.0.0.0 135 LISTEN TCP M: \WINNT\system32\svchost.exe System 8 10.164.22.73 137 LISTEN UDP System 8 10.164.22.73 138 LISTEN UDP System 8 10.164.22.73 139 LISTEN TCP System 8 0.0.0.0 445 LISTEN UDP System 8 0.0.0.0 445 LISTEN TCP lsass.exe 392 10.164.22.73 500 LISTEN UDP M:\WINNT\system32\lsass.= exe msdtc.exe 700 0.0.0.0 1028 LISTEN TCP M:\WINNT\System32\msdtc.= exe MSTask.exe 940 0.0.0.0 1029 LISTEN TCP M:\WINNT\system32\MSTask= .exe services.exe 380 0.0.0.0 1030 LISTEN UDP M: \WINNT\system32\services.exe System 8 10.164.22.73 1039 LISTEN TCP System 8 0.0.0.0 1043 LISTEN TCP imasrv.exe 1780 10.164.22.73 1054 10.161.41.58 1433 ESTABLISHED TCP M: \WINNT\System32\Citrix\IMA\imasrv.exe System 8 10.164.22.73 1058 159.140.35.13 139 ESTABLISHED TCP System 8 10.164.22.73 1060 10.164.22.237 139 ESTABLISHED TCP ctxxmlss.exe 1496 0.0.0.0 1080 LISTEN TCP M: \WINNT\System32\ctxxmlss.exe imasrv.exe 1780 0.0.0.0 1604 LISTEN UDP M: \WINNT\System32\Citrix\IMA\imasrv.exe imasrv.exe 1780 0.0.0.0 2512 LISTEN TCP M: \WINNT\System32\Citrix\IMA\imasrv.exe imasrv.exe 1780 0.0.0.0 2513 LISTEN TCP M: \WINNT\System32\Citrix\IMA\imasrv.exe msdtc.exe 700 0.0.0.0 3372 LISTEN TCP M:\WINNT\System32\msdtc.= exe termsrv.exe 500 0.0.0.0 3389 LISTEN TCP M: \WINNT\System32\termsrv.exe As you can see, there is no Listener on port 1494.
