If your users do not have Delete access on the C:\WINNT\System32\spool\Printers folder, these files will stay there. Every time a user prints something, this file is created. When the job prints, it is deleted ( if the user has Delete access in this folder ). If they do not have the proper access, these files stay there and new ones are created each time they print. SPL1445.tmp for example. They are =3D mostly several weeks and even months old. They are a few hundred k in = =3D size and I have 4 gb worth hanging in my spool folder. =3D20 I always thought the .spl and .shd files were the print jobs so what the =3D heck are these. I tried stopping the spooler and deleting them a few chunks at a time = =3D but the server just hung up then blue screened so I am going to leave = =3D well enough alone for now.
