Known ICA ports:

Also throw in 2598 now for session reliability with MPS3.

Subject: [THIN] Authentication Custom ICA Connection/Application Set

Hi,

Our setup:
NT 4 domain (WINS no DNS)
W2K Servers
Metaframe Xpa FR3

We have some users from another company who are resident in the same
building as we are. They are on a different VLAN. The networkguru's
created
a switch accesslist which allows them to access 2 of our terminal
servers.
These TS host an application which they need.

We used the Program Neighborhood to create the application set to our
farm
(we tried all types of connection settings: TCP/IP, TCP+HTTP etc). When
we
opened the application set, it tries to connect, nothing happens for a
while, followed by a "1030 protocol error" or a "The Citrix server is
not
accepting connections" error.

The next thing we tried was a to create a Custom ICA Connection directly
to
the application. Starting this connection directly gave a logon screen
and
worked immediately !!!

That made me wonder why an applicationset to our farm doesn't work and a
custom does! It seems that that the application set needs some kind of
"broadcast" to connect?

Any ideas on why the applicationset won't work and the custom does.?

TIA

Aleks
