Our Wyse rep called us today and said that if we wanted to get the new v5 code for the 1200LE, that we need to purchase a software maintenance agreement for each terminal! I asked him what was up because I'd never heard of that before. He said that there has always been an option to purchase this, and it would then allow you to get new versions of the code when release. I mentioned that we got all of the code for free off of the website prior to this and he said that since this is v5, it's actually new software and they won't put it on the website for free. I called BS and asked for a supervisor. The supervisor admitted that this was a new program to recoup some of their R&D on the blazer. The whole conversation with both Wyse reps seemed fishy. We can understand if we're expected to pay on any future terminals, but to expect a recurring cost on all of the terminals purchased prior to this is ridiculous.
