The White Oak Bayou Bike Trail report reminded me to share the productive Brays
Bayou Trail and environs between Kirby through the Texas Medical Center and
Hermann Park to the pedestrian bridge at Ardmore.
Double-crested Cormorant
Great Blue Heron
Great Egret
Snowy Egret
Mallard
Red-shouldered Hawk
Red-tailed Hawk
Least Sandpiper
White-winged Dove
Inca Dove
Mourning Dove
Rock Dove
Loggerhead Shrike
Blue Jay
American Crow
American Robin
Northern Mockingbird
Starling
American Pipit
Yellow-rumped Warbler
Northern Cardinal
House Sparrow

The Pipits are in flocks of dozens, easy to see and find in the grassy areas
along the bike path.

Leaving the bayou for Hermann Park, the reflecting pool had dozens of each:
Double-crested Cormorant
Mallard
Ring-necked Duck
Black-bellied Whistling Duck
American Coot

The Bald Eagles are still present in Hermann Park. Walk the Greenway Trail
pedestrian path that bisects the golf course between North McGregor Way and the
parking lot next to the Park Administration building (across the street from
the zoo parking lots). The last hour before dusk is particularly productive
and just check with all the other urban birders you'll meet if you can't find
them.
