ag. fields. I saw the flock of longspurs on Wells Rd. but in the light rain and dark skies, I could really not do much with them except to see at least one McCown's...I was too lazy to pull out the scope. The Lark Bunting is still in the area, today with House Sparrows. 2 Horned Larks and 4 Hooded Mergansers. A very interesting hawk was on one of the power transmission towers but it was too far and had its back to me, but the long wings completely hiding the tail had me wondering if it was a Rough-legged....Likely not tho. Oh and a single Sprague's on the roadside near the s curve on Carlson. There were two other birders up there as well but I did not know who they were and they always ahead of me or on a different road...(Hey guys, I was in the silver GMC pick-up you... drove right by the Longspurs...Hope you found them later) -- Brush Freeman Independent and affiliated Field Biologist 361-655-7641 http://texasnaturenotes.blogspot.com/ Finca Alacranes., Utley,Texas The greatest musician of all time is mother nature.
