Hello all,
The Amazon Kingfisher in Laredo continued through today; however, it's
gotten a lot less reliable and much more difficult to pin down. In short,
it no longer appears to be foraging along Zecate Creek during the day.
Also, it appears to strike out to forage on the Rio Grande before or
shortly after first light. But, it does return to the creek to roost 20 to
30 mintues before sunset. Today, for instance, it returned at 5:26 PM.
Yesterday, it was 5:15 PM. SO, your window of viewing opportunity is very
narrow but, fortunately, still exists. Good luck if you have yet to go and
see it. I know that I'll be back again for better looks and hopefully
photos.
Good birding,
Justin Bosler
