Well, I`ve entered the details in the Aria RMA form so now have to wait
and see what they say.....

I tried another power line but had the same problem so it`s not looking good :(

Thanks for all the advise folks - much appreciated as always :)

Cheers
Paul

Subject: [techtalk] Asus video card dying ?

From what I can gather Aria won`t take it back as it`s over 28 days old so it has to
go back to Asus - please correct me if this is wrong by the way.

They should still take it back. You bought the card from Aria, the law says it's their responsibility to handle repairs or replacement.

Normally I'd say your problem could very well be down to the PSU, but Asus cards can be horribly unreliable due to their silly habit of messing about with the reference design. Still, it may be worth a try attaching the 4850 to another of the 12v rails using a molex/PCIe adaptor (should be one included with the 4850) just in case the rail that serves the PCIe connectors is sagging or cutting out.
