Dooh...forgot to note QX3401 transistor orientation, (I think the
transistor front was facing the SMPS transformer, could anyone confirm
this please. I did order a new STR53041, (just in case). BTW the HOT
checked OK. Queston: Wouldn't a defective flyback cause the HOT to short
before stressing out the power supply (and ruining those components
mentioned)? Thanks.

David,
        Replace the transistor and the IC together...note how transitor
comes out as some of the boards are marked WRONG......Part #'s on my
precious post..No voltages on print for the regulator. You may need
these
parts listed, Make sure the output transistor is not shorted.....You
could
also have a bad fly..
RX3406 and 07  47/1W
RX3403             15/3W
RX3409             4.7 1/2W
RX3408             22/1/2W
D3406,07,09    103-344-02A
