I think the failure is caused by the power supply components themselves. I've done a number of those in the past, and don't ever recall the CRT being a secondary issue. You have to change a bunch of those parts, otherwise it WILL BE BACK. In fact I think there was a bulletin and/or kit for this power supply. It's been a while...
