Variable Inputs are only used in commercial equipment, Audio Mixer boards, and such. Having Variable Inputs fed into Consumer Amps will work, providing you have the proper settings on the "supply". Rule of thumb, and this will apply to the "top of the line" older TV's, if you have jacks (Mitsubishi) or as on JVC TV's (a switch) go to "fixed". Especially Seniors...or families with "Teenagers". Trust me on that. Much Music seems to sound great when everything sounds like a Jimmy Hendrix and the Star Spangled Banner at Woodstock. -Ed- Ed Gaidies Tel-Tek Electronics Ontario-Canada teltek3@xxxxxxxxxxxx -----Original Message----- From: techassist-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:techassist-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of al m Sent: Wednesday, December 03, 2003 8:56 PM To: techassist@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [TechAssist] Re: Variable audio out usage Basically that is what I thought you only use the fixed output. But I just came from a house that had the variable output in the surround sound and I just was wondering. I imagine if there was a variable input you could do it.
