There is nothing that Nesda can do about it. It is not illegal. Philips just
announced that IBM will be taking over their parts, service, and customer
relations (at least in the U.S.) They did not say what will happen with
regard to their existing ASCs.
The people that are really panicking are the parts distributors. This
exchange only stuff and exclusive service arrangements with the supply chain
management organizations of companies like UPS and IBM leaves distributors
with no source of parts and no body to sell them to if they could get them.
