There's your answer Kevin. Don't even try to repair these on a component level. And I would not jump to the conclusion that because the DVD won't spin, that it's the motor. Most DVD Players will not be worth repairing. Even Toshiba has opted to replace DVD Players under Warranty, and not have ASC repair them. -Ed- Tel-Tek Electronics Ontario-Canada teltek3@xxxxxxxxxxxx ----- Original Message ----- From: "Kevin" <kevintv@xxxxxxx> To: "TECH-ASSIST" <techassist@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Wednesday, March 17, 2004 4:49 PM Subject: [TechAssist] Toshiba SD-1600C, DVD won't spin, need motor > Does anyone know of a supplier for just the motor that spins the DVD? > The motor is available from Toshiba, but only with the whole sled which > costs more than a brand new progressive scan player made by Toshiba. > > > Kevin Wilks > Kevin's TV & Video Repair > Penticton BC Canada > kevintv@xxxxxxx > > > > > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- --- > Lost Password: > http://www.tech-assist.org and select "Login Problems?". > Email Archives: > //www.freelists.org/archives/techassist/ > ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Lost Password: http://www.tech-assist.org and select "Login Problems?".
