I just had a KE42TS2U yesterday with those symptoms (the screen was backlit
or "primed") from a cold start. If left on this way for about a half hour,
the tunred off and back on, the set would operate normally until it was
turned on again from a cold start. The customer states it started this way
but only had to wait for about 5 minutes until it progressed to about the
half hour wait now. I have diagnosed it with a defective "B" board which I
am about to check price and availability on to give the customer an
estimate.
