Jeff's probably right. The VCR section must acheive the stop and/or eject mode. It probably isn't making it. I had one recently. The loading motor has trouble ejecting the tape because the cassette loader is bound up. This loader is almost completely plastic. A real piece of Philps/Funai junk. Order a new loader, there's no other solution if, indeed the loader is what you find to be the problem.
