Jeff,
I think replaceing with original sony transister will probably solve your
problem. I don't see a lot of Sony's, but had one in about six months ago
with bad regulator and shorted H.O.T., replaced both and set worked but
H.O.T got so hot you couldn't lay your finger on it(had replaced with
generic) ended up ordering original Sony and this cooled temp. considerably,
even though I thought it still ran warmer than most H.O.T. do. Gave it back
to customer and it's still going. By the way Jeff, did the power relay fix
that Quasar you were having a problem with not shutting off?
