[TechAssist] Sony KV2780R Horiz Output Dilemma

Make : Sony
Model : KV2780R
Problem : Set came in with shorted HOT & defective flyback.
Changed the flyback & the electrolytic on the H-drive tranny.
I had a SK series 2SD1497 generic in stock...so I popped that in. Set came
on fine but had slight pincushion distortion & the output was getting hot!
Classic symptom when these generics are used in the Sonys....sooooo I
ordered a 2SD1497 from Electrosound. Installed that....set came on picture
looks great....output still running very warm....ran for about 5 minutes
then shorted.
The original Sony part # 872930100 is $17.00 ! It's listed as a 2SD1497-02.
Any other options before I order this expensive transistor.
