Don't know Gary, this was listed in my vcr data file under VG4025, but the 
symptoms were what you described, so I thought that may be the same. It was 
listed as the precision feed back for the power supply. I don't have any pwr 
supply symptoms under the models that you listed. This is probably a 
different chassis. But, it was worth a shot.

I replaced the voltage comparator ic ip003 but dont see an ic3.
is this the same one? has 8 pins.
