[TechAssist] RCA P52730LG1, Chassis CTC169PC Loud Snap from red crt then shutdown

I have this set that when turned on it has a loud snap or pop of high
voltage from what looks like the anode of the red crt. The set will go into
shut down. I removed the anode and replaced it with a new one but still have
the same problem. It looked like a small amount of liquid was on the old
anode but I don't see anything else. Do I just have a bad red crt?
