Wow.
 Do an NTE search in their cross. It actually shows the D2578 as an" 
NTE2353/DAMPER"
The unused silk screened holes marked CR14801 would take the place of an 
HOT without a damper. The D2578 in this chassis has no use for that 
diode . (see my later post) So, I'm confused(not unusual).
